Sharing Your Outlook Calendar

Only you have the ability to share or stop sharing your own calendar. This setting is not something Computer Science Tech Support can control.

How to Start Sharing Your Calendar

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click on the Calendar tab on the left-hand side.

  3. Under the My Calendars tab, right click your calendar and click Share.

  4. Enter the email addresses of the people you want to share your calendar with and click Send.

  5. By default, anyone you extend an invitation to share your calendar with is a reviewer. Reviewers can create items on your calendar, but you are the only one who can choose to accept or decline calendar items. To view a list of people who have access to your caladar, under the My Calendars tab, right click your calendar and click Properties.

  6. On the next screen, click on the Permissions tab. A list of users who have access to your calendar will appear. To view the type of permission that user has, highlight their username.
  7. You can change the privileges they have by changing the value under the Permission Level Drop-menu. Common permission levels are reviewers, which were described above, and Editors, who have full control over the calendar. When you have made your changes, click on Apply and then OK.

How to Stop Sharing Your Calendar

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click on the Calendar tab on the left-hand side.

  3. Under the My Calendars tab, right click your calendar and click Properties.
  4. On the next screen, click on the Permissions tab. A list of users who have access to your calendar will appear. To remove a user, highlight their name and click Remove.

  5. Both you and the person you remove will need to restart Outlook to propagate the changes.
